At the halfway mark in Poland

Congratulations to us! We've made it to the halfway mark of our travelling adventure...naturally I have mixed feelings about that.
We set off at around 10.30 with easy driving but unfortunately today I could feel myself sinking into a sad/bad mood. I was grumpy with myself, grumpy with David, grumpy with the world.
So needless to say it was quiet driving in the car as my mood rubbed off on David, with some uncharacteristic swearing from him during ...

... for a while admiring the views and a paraglider who was flying around, before catching the lift down again to the restaurant and a coffee with a couple of plates of chips!

As it was still early afternoon, Lucy and I took the boys to the reservoir and hired a 4-person pedlo for half an hour. It was pretty exposed on the lake as you can imagine and the beach was packed with people lying semi-naked, slowly baking themselves. Not ...

There are several open areas where age old stalactites have formed on the ceiling and ...

Today we moved east towards Stronie Sląskie, the same place we spent our holiday last year. The journey took around 3 hours along windy mountain roads and dense pine forests. At about the halfway point, we diverted slightly to visit the Góry Stołowe (Table Mountain) at Szczeliniec Wielki.

The hike climbs from Karłow up 665 steps to the highest point at 919 m above sea level. Once at the top, in order ...

... Uncle and he knows that he can count on Wujek Marek to make him laugh and come up with crazy adventures. I was just glad to get out of Głubczyce and have time to relax close to Mother Nature.

When we arrived in Bełsznica it was supper time and we ate it just the way I like to, on the front porch of our friend’s house. The house has changed a lot since our last visit. Iza and Darek decided to completely rebuild their little village home and ...
