    We have discovered that our trips onto small towns always seem more authentic than our trips to the big cities. While you HAVE to visit the sites in the major cities, and we do love them, there's just something so much more personal about heading into a smaller, non-touristy town (or at least where there aren't as many tourists).     ... into this Ottoman influenced town. People cruise around enjoying the warm temperature while a big brass band plays in the park (bust that trumbone). We stroll the streets of Eger admiring the medieval layout and beautiful architecture. A beautiful brick minaret rockets into the sky, remnants of the Ottoman Empire.     The rest of the drive down to Eger ended up being fairly winding and Sam and I were both wishing we had stopped to walk around a bit. Once again Google saved us - Eger was a pretty big town, and I doubt we would have navigated the city streets up to the hillside with the castle without help (or at least without a lot less harmony in the car, since we had enough trouble even with Google).
