... were able to view Zell from above and really appreciate how lovely and picturesque the whole valley is. It's hard to comprehend that the history of this area can be traced back to 2000BCE and parts of the town walls erected in 1229 can still be seen!. Zeller Schwarze Katz is a world famous wine and a monument in the shape of a black cat was made as a fountain and is located in the town square. Tomorrow we are planning a boat trip.

Fingers crossed for better weather ☀ ...

... in Koln. Requested to extend my stay but they were all booked up. Okay, that's fine. Decided to get on the train and wing it.

Stopped first in St Goar to see the Rheinfels Castle. It was built in 1245 and for centuries was the largest on the Rhine! I hiked up the hill for about 15 minutes with my heavy pack on. Man, if I had to do this a month ago I couldn't. I've gotten a lot stronger since ...

... sleep. Have recovered today after a good sleep at Erika & Manfred's, who are looking after us very well. Have already viewed our fair share of European soccer and Manfred was excited about Bayern Munchin's win over Barcelona.

Manfred is struggling with pinched nerves in his lower back and is going to see a specialist on Friday. Despite this he is in ...
