Beautiful sunny HOT day. Walked along the village street after a huge brekkie, and then took small motor boat out on the lake, looking at the campers from the outside today! Looked inside the beautifully decorated village church. My good friend Anni and her husband Michael arrived from Munich. Anni and I had been pen-friends since we were about 12, and Anni and I had visited many times in Germany and UK, although Anni has never made ...

Being left-hand drive, they were all made for export models including Austin-Healey, Triumph, and an E-type, but well cherished and in working order nonetheless. Moving on, our next major stop was at Kaiser-Franz-Josef-Hohe (2,369m) and in effect the end of the road since this leads you to the Pasterze Glacier and the ...

... each step as the height started to bother me, and the view from the top wasn't particularly different from the view at the bottom. Plus I didn't see any wildlife. I very slowly descended the ladder, and we carried on. Over the hill was a field with yellow flowers springing up everywhere, ala The Sound of Music. I took the opportunity to spin in a circle while Jess took photos. It was a close call, but I think Julie Andrews might have done it just a little ...
