The 2-hour boat tour was amazing. We saw many, many birds, 2-toed sloths and 3-toed sloths, a family of Howler monkeys near the shore (including mom and baby on her back), Caimans (apparently quite harmless; there were families and kids swimming 25 feet away, undeterred !), ...
The 6 of us (Kirstin, Jayde, Rikki, Josh, Ben and myself) got ourselves to the airport in good time. ... nothing. I saw the whole volcano in Arenal but we were at the resort for a whole day and had the time to see it. Up in the clouds, the weather is highly unpredictable so my verdict is that those tours aren't worth it unless the weather for the day is clear and sunny. I'm here at the height of the rainy season. Off to a delicious lunch at a restaurants after checking out Lankaster Gardens... Nice little place to wander through but I prefer seeing this in the wild. ...
