... story of frame depicting Jesus' crucifixion, pretty cool way to get the story across. Took me back to my visit to the re-enactment in Itza Palapa in Mexico (see previous entry).
The highlight for me was the markets, was awesome to walk around and listen, smell and feel the culture. they sell everything here, from souvenirs to fish heads... A great place to have a traditional inexpensive lunch at one of the many Sodas. No idea why ...

... an egg on our bedside desk! Perhaps with some sympathy we were given a no charge horse ride on the beach. In search of baby turtles we woke up at 5 one morning to scour the national park beach. Although we did not see any our ~10km walk was rewarded with many of the above sightings. One of the highlights of this area was a visit to the rescue centre where they treat and release injured or abandoned animals. The favorite had to be the baby 3 toed sloths who always look like they are smiling. ...

... have a kitchenette and bath, while the younger folks have cabins equipped with a full kitchen and adequate space for all to sleep. Some grumbling about ants and other critters that are sharing the dwellings occurs but hey, you’re in a Costa Rican rainforest, let’s be realistic. We will meet back by the bus in a few minutes to take a quick trip to the ocean before dark.

The walk to the ocean is a bit mucky, but worth it. The pounding surf is amazing ...
