It rains in San Jose
... areas of the city. I never felt threatened. But as often as it rained, someone would approach us and tell us that San Jose is not safe for us, to keep our cameras out of sight and that we should take care to return to our hostel before dark fell. Everyone I met was perfectly pleasant, and if anything, it was nice that so many people took the time to look out for our wellbeing.
