Ferry

Took a ferry from den Helder across to Texel, what a short ride...can see the island from mainland easily. This was the first time on ferry that I can remember. Took about 20min to get across...didnt see any fish or seals on the trip

... also noticed that there were large green fields of crops, and strangely enough we could see boat masts protruding from them. obviously the canals ran through the crops, strange to see though.

Sunday morning is no time to sleep in. We are ready to move on to more adventures. We walked to the tram stop and rode back to the P R Parking (inexpensive overnight parking, in case you're ever traveling here). A short drive north brought us to our first destination, Zaanse Schans, a windmill sancutary, of sorts. They "rescue" old windmills and bring them here for refurbishing.
