Had the first dinner with the group, they are all Australian. Shared a table with a couple who were travelling with another four couples who went to the same church. Very chatty and friendly. Tomorrow is the first real day of the tour and we go do a city tour and then have the afternoon free.
Going to stay up as late as possible tonight and try and sleep all the way through. Have put in a wake-up call for tomorrow.
... the harbour! Since the queue was only 10 long we decided to stick with it. WOW, what an excellent decision. We were hungry and ordered grilled salmon and scallops with salad and grilled,oysters with chips. A gourmet meal arrived. It was fantastic, the evening was mild, the sun shining and we were lapping, or licking, up every moment.

This morning the plan to paddle to Saturna was nixed in favour of an opportunity to stay on the south side of North Pender Island in case of a visit by our Southern Resident Whales (Orcas, aka Killer Whales). They have been sighted over the past few days, so we were hopeful. Richard was all set to go at 9:30am and so we put in at Thieves Bay Marina. The water was as calm as calm could be, and the tides were reasonably inactive. ...

I chose a mixture of both options - I would get almost naked outside of the shower and then finish undressing in the shower area. Usually with a quick exit strategy if anyone were to walk in while I was half undressed!
