      Lulled by it all

... price, excellent, and very cold Prosecco at 5 pm
No more vast library of DVDs just downstairs
No more dinner served--always with dessert

Not to mention minifridge refreshed, bottled water supplied, hors d'oeuvres delivered to our cabin at 5:30.

And no more getting up and doing it all over again. Pooh!

We decided to walk into downtown as it was only about a mile away and we would get to see more. Along the way we came across a small pub called 'Big Bad Johns' we had read about it in the lonely planet guide so we decided to go in and have a look. We were a bit shocked when we walked in as we were expecting an old worldly pub but instead what ...

This morning the plan to paddle to Saturna was nixed in favour of an opportunity to stay on the south side of North Pender Island in case of a visit by our Southern Resident Whales (Orcas, aka Killer Whales).  They have been sighted over the past few days, so we were hopeful.  Richard was all set to go at 9:30am and so we put in at Thieves Bay Marina.  The water was as calm as calm could be, and the tides were reasonably inactive.  ...

... It wasn't until I arrived in Vancouver that I realized I had felt no fear on the flight. For the first time ever, I was on a flight and did not clench every part of my body. We even flew through some turbulence and I remained calm. I felt so liberated, with that overwhelming fear gone. I knew traveling was going to be so much easier in the future without that holding me back.

When I arrived in Vancouver, my luggage was all there; however, ...
