... to Brasov - we had previously considered stopping at Rasnov Castle along the way, but our experience at Bran convinced us to skip it. That turned out to be a great decision, as Brasov definitely has its charms, and our very limited time here (just an afternoon and an evening) was barely enough to even have a taste of the city's offerings.

Brasov is yet another big Romanian city with beautiful plazas and excellent restaurants and cafes, ...

We went back to the guesthouse for some of the afternoon and made the rather long trek into the centre of town in the early evening. We had a bit of an adventure this morning. We checked out of the Ibis and walked the 1 or 1.5km to a bus stop where you can catch a bus to the airport. You can't buy tickets on board which we found out after I asked the driver, but fortunately he was nice enough to wait for us to run to the billete window and buy our tickets. We have already noticed that Romanians are really nice, but then our bus went 50m around ...
