Belgium day 3 - 7

A travel blog entry by leighbee87 on Sep 05, 2014

... it is a bit steep and made a big dent in our budget. At the end of the tour it stops at the British memorial gate and we saw the 'last post' ceremony The tour always includes this, although we were very lucky as it was 70yrs to the day that the Town of Ypres was liberated from the Germans so there was a big parade. It was amazing. It is now day 7 and after spending some time in a cafe, and buying MORE Belgian chocolate we are now on the bus to Amsterdam. Legg number ...

Central Bruges is just as touristy as central Brussels, but it just feels more authentically old and less like it was touched up or rebuilt Disney-style. And unlike Brussels, it isn’t limited just ...

May 3rd-8th Brugge for me was a place to relax and catch up on sleep :) I booked myself a Bed and Breakfast. A private room all to myself! I was beyond excited to have some down time. My days in Brugge were spent wandering the city, relaxing, reading books, shopping and watching some English television. It had been a long time since I saw any English tv other than music videos or BBC news. I did most of the touristy things to do, ...
