... and then the rim of the glass is covered in red chili (a low picante/spicy type). You can also have a Michalada which is a Chalada mixed with a fruit such as mango. Have to say I didn't love the Chalada but will give it another go I'm sure.
A great day filled with new experiences. I am quickly coming to the realisation that this trip will be a journey filled with food, drink and chili :) ... I best start doing some exercise!

Feeling a little rough
After a good night in Diego's mum's really comfortable bed (she was out of town, obviously!), we walked to a pretty restaurant for a late breakfast. Unfortunately the food wasn't quite as pretty as the setting. I ordered waffles and orange juice but they ended up being these strange waffles with syrupy bacon. The food here is nothing like Mexican you would get back home, but its still really amazing though muy picante! I'm slowly beginning to burn off my taste buds... The language barrier is also a bit of a problem but as the week goes on I'm beginning to pick up a suprising amount and form basic sentences now. Hopefully won't be long til I'm fluent =D

Peña de Bernal ..... It fell from the sky
... spring equinox. You can hike about half way up the monolith and if you are a professional rock climber with your own gear you can climb the rest of the way up. We chose to go the easy route and rode with a guide in a tractor part way up to see sites of the Chichimecs an indigenous people of the area.
