My foot is starting to hurt and so I opted for the shorter, 14K route to Dozon. I will miss seeing the Cistercians in Oseira but I wasn't sure that I could get there before noon when they close to the public. Also the climb out of Oseira is very challenging and I am a little tired. So I am off without a map and just following the signs, I have made it 5k already without problem. The route ...

... the Spanish people are wonderful and pointed me back in the right direction. From then on, it was basically trudge trudge trudge. It was very beautiful and warm. Perhaps the best part of the Camino is the solitude and time for reflection. Many things work themselves out. Had the best and most simple dinner yet. At the top, I met a bicycle tour who thought it was so funny that I was alone and from America. They all wanted to take pictures and it was such an uplift for me. I finally arrived at the Alberque around 6:45pm. We went to town for dinner and then I was out like a light. Tomorrow is into Ourense, a private hotel room with a ...

... I have decided that I will also take a 23K today rather than 32K. There is a huge mountain to scale. If I maintain my 22K or schedule after that, I will reach Santiago next Thursday. That will give me an overnight there and back to Madrid. Or perhaps, I will get my compostela in Santiago and go one night to Vigo to see the ocean. It is hard to be this close to the ocean and not see it. But that is a week away and things change every ...
