We had a very enjoyable stay in this quaint hotel. Very quiet, clean, and comfortable. Well located within a few blocks of the ferry terminal and bus station, as well as city sights.

January 12-14 Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay

We had a long day flying from Puerto Iguaz˙ to Buenos Aires but were glad to skip the 18 hour bus ride. Next step was the ferry 50km across to Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. We had about 6 hours to kill after we touched down in Buenos Aires. This was good because it took longer than …

We arrived at 1ish and had to wait till 2:30am which made it a pretty heinous night bus. Jenny fell asleep in the bus station, so I had to stay awake to make sure no one tried to steal our stuff. I paced up and down the us station to keep awake. Must have done it 100 times until our bus arrived. We had a 12 hour journey in front of us so as soon as we got on we went to ...

25/02/2014 - Uruguay: Colonia del Sacramento
I took the morning 8:30 boat ('Colonia Express' company, half price than Bougu... company) to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay. It was windy, and the ship moved from side to side - many vomitted. I felt so bad, but didn't vomit.
First task in the city: ATM. In Uruguay you can get USD!
The old city is nice, you don't need a guide, (anyway, the guide do not ...

After lunch I have a look around the old town take some pictures and then wander back to the hostel. As I have a tv in my room I make the most of being able to watch tv. I haven't done this for months. There are a couple of English speaking channels and I indulge in doing nothing and being a couch ...

... of us had had time to eat! An hour and a half later we were in Uruguay. It was such a nice day, so sunny, and Colonia is so pretty! Cobbled streets, and beautiful gardens filled with all different types of trees. We took a taxi to the historic part, and the taxi driver was so funny he kept telling us about the architecture and the spanish and Portuguese influences, but we really did not understand what was going on, even though his english was good! He ...
