... and vegetables are vibrant in color. The raspberries are bright, bright red, the cucumbers are 18 dark green inches, and the potatoes are heavy, brown, and rinsed clean. You hear the customers asking for samples and quantities in Dutch, rustling of small plastic and paper bags for the purchase, the moving of pallets and boxes of produce, and laughing from people enjoying the cool morning at the farmer's market as it drizzles. I can't wait to go back.

... this was the Noord-Holland race. The only thing that surprised us was the complete lack of signage or flagging tape to warn people of a race in progress. In fact, there were people wandering, cars and bicycles using the road until just a few minutes before the racers came through – we commented on how laid-back it was here compared to back home. I took a few photos and as Megs said, it would be preparation for when we hoped to watch the Tour de France in a couple months. ...
