... A day on the train. The scenery beyond Yekaterinburg is a bit more varied than that up to it, which was "relentlessly Birch forest". Here the view opens out from time to time. The forecast is for c.18 degrees in Irkutsk where Yekaterinburg was 24 (and in reality 27, it turned out) and it already looks cooler outside. ... of the station as it's a fair walk (but he still ripped us off charging 600 roubles, about 12 pounds, for the 2km journey!). The safety belts in the back are broken and of course the driver is an absolute loon... driving at speed, up close and cutting up other folk! All the rushing of the taxi doesn't help the driver as he gets lost few times on route.
