Today was the last day of the Backroads adventure and ended with a short/relaxing ride prior to saying our goodbyes. After a nice breakfast we all got on our bikes for a ride through Bruges. In started so nice, beautiful morning, sun shining and all our group sticking together and riding as a true group of friends that we have become. Right as the ride started someone pointed out that my shoelace was untied. Since I switched to my gym shoes, forgot to double knot/tuck them in and did ...

... times as I wandered along the main street, Limburgstraat, my eyes were drawn to the original Mason's Guild House, which is topped by Moriscos dancers which turn in the wind.

It was interesting to see the Great Butchers' Hall and its' trusses which are now used to hang Gandaham. The Galgenhuisje (gallows house) which was the former tripe house was a gallows in the 17th century but it is now a small cafe. ...

We got chatting to the couple working there, who were very friendly and full of suggestions for things to do in Gent and pubs to go to, and the guy even went as far as taking us down the road to a pub and getting a couple of beers poured for us! We weren't really planning on another beer at that stage, but it was there, so oh well!! We drank it while chatting to ...

Our last day we spent just walking around Brussels again before heading to the airport for our flight out. We didn't see too much more and really just took the time to have our last waffle! Bought a few treats hear and there but couldn't really spend up large as we could only take what we could fit into our restricted Ryanair carry on!

All in all AMAZING time in Belgium! I know I'll dream about the waffles for years to come

... what?! haha. Just kidding; they email me and little do they know of how excited I get when I get a message from them! Peter not paying attention to most of what I say (wait, that's not much different here.. haha). Axel and his "boxer backpack.".. ahh.. The life. :)
