FInally he came back and thanked the GM for our hotel's hospitality, wrangled TJ into the car and the three of us and the station manager drove to Paramount, the restaurant where the Garuda base manager and fellow office staff were waiting for us. The restaurant was lovely with a great view over Ambon. As soon as we arrived and shook hands with everyone (probably 10 people in all), we sat and ordered waters ...

... wise to go there i decided to give it a miss. This meant i had to come up with an alternative plan on how i was going to spend my last month out here before heading home. Ended up at the Penginapan Asri near the Trikora Monument where i had to pay Rp110,000 for ...

... I was quite relieved about. I thought that I'd now seen enough and decided to head back to shore. Some heavy dark clouds started to gather overhead so we decided to head back to the guest house. Sure enough the heavens opened and a deluge of biblical proportions rained down. We started to think that we would never escape the rain no matter where we go. At 6pm the Islands electricity comes on for 5 hours going off again at 11pm. It had been swelteringly hot so we where glad ...
