... a massive building site and didn't look that great. However, as soon as we stepped inside we realised we were wrong as it's lovely. The rooms are gorgeous - by far the nicest place we have stayed in on this entire trip, and Pete was very happy to discover a stand alone bath. ... Malacca is also spelled Malaca, Malakka and sometimes Malaka. Various spellings of city names seems to be common in these Asian countries. Have hostel in brickfields - average sort of place. Nothing but availability to recommend it.

I decided to take the Air Monorail back to my hostel and felt like I was in Dubai for a bit when I was riding inside an all women wagon back to KL Central.

Good news! My British friend Alex is in town, he messaged me as he was taking the plane to Kuala Lumpur, so after all, I'm going to have someone to go explore with... The local bars tonight!
