... volcano is a caldera, which is filled partially by the crater lake known as Segara Anak or Anak Laut (Child of the Sea) due to the blue color of the water. The entire trip will last for 3 days, and will also guide me through the jungle where hopefully I will be able to encounter wild orangutan. With a group of 10 people, 2 professional guides and some local porters we will head up through the national park. As there are no hotels or any civilization on the way up, we will ...

We poked our heads out of the boat and sucked in the fresh air. It was still hot but at least it was clean. We were at the most beautiful beach. Small local boats were moored up along the whitest sand. The water was completely transparent. We jumped off and our bags were ...

... that the boat wasn't about to be swamped by a large wave and sink into the depths below. At one point a rather rotund chap decided to move from one side of the boat to the other making the boat tilt rather alarmingly to one side and all the locals shouted at him to move back. Janet in her infante wisdom had managed to chose the perfect spot on the boat to catch all the wave spray. By the time we arrived she might as well have swum to the mainland, ...
