... instead of walking at 1am, we asked a taxi driver how much he predicted the fare would be. However when he said it would be about 22 quid we quickly set off on our feet in the direction of Hyde park. Unfortunately, Hyde Park is closed after hours and our 40 minute walk became almost an hour as we had to detour around the outskirts of the park. So on another note, the reason the main square had three names is because everything does – or at the very least two names and sometimes four names! This is because Brussels is an extremely multicultural and multilingual city, unsurprisingly really because it is situated in the middle of so many different countries and this is ...

... I know what Norwegian sounds like…). I’ve realised that I dislike praline chocolate (which is what the Belgians are known for) and their Belgian waffles aren’t anything special. We tried their fries (friets) with mayo and they were pretty decent. Their cities (with the exception of Brussels – which was horrid) are picturesque complete with gothic charm and modern beauty.
