Today we visited the UNESCO town of Telc. Pronounced Telch like belch. Un untouched 16th. century town.

Had a limited castle tour as they are filming the movie "Emperor". Barbara auditioned for a solo and got the part!! Only problem, we can't be here for the rest of the filming.

... concert from our hotel room-this time harp and violin. At 5 we boarded our bus and visited a family outside of town. They live in a 16th century house that they are restoring. After a tour of the house and yard we were treated to tea and cookies and a violin concert! Back to town, dinner in a cave, our first authentic Budweiser beer (not the American variety) and off to bed.

... rafters drink of choice, provided by Milan, our guide. then he took us to a local microbrewery for some local beer and cheese as a substitute for our cancelled castle visit.

The day ended with dinner at a little Italian restaurant-pizza, salad, wine and gelato-a nice change from the heavy Czech food. We walked back under the gorgeous full moon, enjoying the night views of the castle

... have taken a break midway, because by the time we arrived both Jess and I were tired and sore. The traffic started to bank up, parking was tricky, and we ended up at an expensive Italian place for lunch - but we were too tired to search out a better place. We ordered cheap (bruschetta), then loaded back up and headed out. I must say I'm not a big fan of large cities. We crossed the bridge and head north towards the Czech border. Fairytale city!

... what I felt... The outside of the monastery is surrounded with graves and gardens and the outside of the monastery is quite plain.
Once we left Sedlec and Kutna Hora we headed to Cesky Budejovice, in search of the Budvar Brewery and what was descrived as a gorgeous medieval town. Unfortunately, we found the brewery but missed the last tour so could only look from the outside but we weren't disappointed with the main square of Cesky Budejovice and stopped here ...
