Mexican finale (for now)

A travel blog entry by jennyroberts

... We had splashed out on the centrally located Reina Roja, which is definitely a break from the norm with hotels, with a red and black decor and exposed pipes everywhere. In the lobby downstairs there's a small pool and a slightly surreal mannequin still life or two; the rooftop pool is its crowning glory though with views to the beach and across town. They suggest the restaurant Es Parilla, having eaten there a few nights ago, so we meet them as they disembark from a visit to Cozumel and wander down Fifth Avenue together. On their suggestion we ...

The beach is a lot bigger than Playa and a bit more surfy, there were lots of people around but it has an OK vibe and lots of people having fun. After swimming and sun bathing we found an awesome Japanese restaurant near by and indulged in something we hadn't had since back in New Zealand.

In the morning we were pretty keen to ...
