We spent some time in Tulum which is a town outside of Playa Del Carmen. It was ok but quite touristy. We also visited Coba which was far more interesting and had extensive Mayan ruins inside the tropical forest just outside the town. We also saw a couple of crocodiles in the lake which was cool.
