Manuel Antonio is a great place to just walk around and soak up the beauty as well as enjoy all the people watching you can possibly stand!

There are so many different types of flowers blooming along the walls, in the trees and shrubs. Bromeliads are everywhere in the trees, fence posts and seem to require nothing to keep them growing. If they are growing down at eye view, chances are you will see a bird flit in looking for water we presume.

... barbed wire I wondered what I had come to! I needn't have worried. Inside, the Hostal is very comfortable and clean and the team of young people running the place is wonderful. They all speak excellent English (well, US English but can't blame them for that) give as much info as you need and are always happy and cheerful.

The other agroindustrial crop I had not mentioned was palm oil. I drove through huge plantations of the trees, and they gave their name to the tiny town of Nuevo Palmar, where I spent the night on the banks of the Rio Grande de Terr.

... got to Quepos and our resort. The whole trip ended up taking closer to 6 or 7 hours - not sure if we stopped too many times, or for too long, but it definitely was a long trip! Our driver had to make the return trip to La Fortuna, so I guess I can't complain too much.

... of it. They pull the boat up on the bank when they spot one and the driver would hop out of the boat and feed them. At one point he even got on the back of a crocodile! It was crazy. These things were HUGE! It was cool to see them up close too. We also took a trip through the mangroves before catching the sunset over the ocean.
