      ... use because during the day we kept the balcony doors wide open to leave the sea breeze in. At night we just had the blinds down leaving once again the door wide open, only to hear the sound coming from the lapping of waves against the rocky coast, the whole evening. What an irresistible sound! I cannot imagine anybody asking for more! Everything is perfectly planned for a relaxing stay.

      ... of the fortress, even though in ruins, continue to be impressive. The castle of Methoni occupies the whole area of the headland and is protected by the sea on its three sides. A deep moat separates the castle from the land and a wooden bridge is used to reach the castle.
