... surpassed all my expectations and we were giddy with sensory overload by 12:15! At 10:00 we inadvertently found ourselves underneath an exploding sign welcoming the New Year - one of those situations that makes a great story after you have lived to tell it. ... the food came, and apparently it was as warm as a bath, but I didn't like the idea of being wet in the bus for another 3 hours! We reached Flores around 5. It's tiny!! ... the babies. I'm ready to say goodbye to....always having the right change for the tuk tuks, the cobblestone streets, the ache in my feet and legs from walking so much on these streets and sidewalks, the mosquitos, and remembering not to use the water for anything. Our apartment has been almost a great location, our own washer and dryer ( a luxury here), very quiet, and green grass that is not often found ...

My trek up to Pacaya Volcano, wasn't as exciting as I'd hoped. This was mostly due to not actually being able to get right to the top, as a recent eruption had meant it was unsafe to do so. And whilst I'm up for a fair few things, falling into a volcano is not one of them. But despite this and the trek being rather short and easy, it did still made a fun day out.
