We learnt about the horrible ruler _____ who used brutal means to colonise the Congo and his successor who was actually nice and cared about the country and said no when Germany wanted to come through Belgium to invade France in WWI. Finally we saw the ____ which was a beautiful view over the city! Had some dinner and Pappas watched the Wimbledon final. Made our way back to the hostel for a relaxing evening even though we had raucous Spanish speaking room ...

... 1,000 beers! Despite the fact it was a Monday, the place was heaving. We lucked out and got to two seats at the bar, Kim had been before so knew the score - she asked a barman for a copy of the book that details their beer selection. Now, at this point, I feel it is important that I pause to let that sink in - a book. And not a small book either - it was like an Argos catalogue of beer! ... they knew the language they were able to ask and find the cartoon gallery/museum so I felt better about that (I was so ready to be mugged in what appeared to be back streets). As you can imagine, the cartoons were more for the kids than the adults, however a nice time was had by all. It was mainly older cartoons, tintin, Smurfs etc and some that I didn't know. We then made our way back to the galleria for a YUMMY lunch. ...

... have to get used to it sooner or later. I was up at the crack of dawn to get myself organized and downstairs to the bus by 645 am. Luckily enough I was jet lagged and wide awake at 5am. I had to allow myself some extra time just to find my way downstairs! The Royal National hotel is like a big maze I have already gotten lost a few times and have only been here for 24hrs!
