We stayed at the Hotel Anno 1216 for two nights and had a great stay. We had the suite just off the lobby with the Baroque painted stucco ceiling. The suite is just gorgeous with three huge windows that open onto a lovely patio. When we arrived we were met by an English-speaking gentleman who checked us in, showed us to and around our suite, suggested a better place to park, and helped with the luggage when we returned with it. He suggested some great restaurants then made the reservations for us. He also fixed and served our breakfast the next two mornings. Service could not have been better! I highly recommend the Hotel Anno 1216 in Luebeck.

The ship docked earlier than scheduled, and we left the ship shortly after 11 a.m. There was a long line of taxis waiting on the dock. After a twenty minute ride to the airport, we found the Avis counter and got the keys to the car—an upgrade to a Mercedes E class station wagon. Philip felt comfortable driving it, and we were ready to get …
Woke up and managed to FaceTime mum and dad and tell them all about what was happening over here. It was a beautiful day today and we weren't feeling like doing too much so we sat in the garden most of the day enjoying the sun and chatting away. Then about 4pm mike came over and picked us up and we went to the supermarket and bought food and alcohol. Then we went ...
... about half an hour of mikes dad trying, this guy jumped on the boat and within 2mins the boat was up and running no sweat! We went for a drive out to the hamburg waterfront which was lovely, but became a bit windy on the way back. Lena and I sat on the front of the boat the whole time we were on it, I think mainly to avoid speaking to mikes parents, as she doesn't like them. We were out on the water for about 3 hours, which was so nice to see how different it ...
Since the 3rd day after departing on the cruise portion of our trip, the ship has been dealing with an outbreak of norovirus - the nasty gastroenteritis (i.e. nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, low grade fever) that has sent many ships back to port early. However the Azamara crew did a fantastic job with containment procedures and only 3% of passengers became sick. Unfortunately, Dana was one of the 3%, spending the last 3 days of the cruise quarantined in ...

On Friday, I got a chance to hang out with all of my German friends to celebrate being done with school. We hung around outside and had a grill-out. It was quite nice to actually spend time with them!
Saturday evening I went up to Travemünde Woche with a couple friends which is a big festival for sailing and they have a bunch of food and music! They set up a big stage on the beach, and it was quite a lot ...
