... seen any tension at PUCMM. I think that among younger, educated Dominicans the tensions seem to be diminishing a little. It's hard for me to commentate as a white, blonde girl living here. Others may see a completely different side than I do. I'm hoping to gain more insight into the situation as I continue my D/H relations class and spend more time in the country.

With yesterday's schedule forcing us to mix up some things, today's priorities became our two construction projects. ... started jumping around everywhere. My roommate Carrie heard me screaming and rushed into the bathroom because she thought that something was truly wrong. When she saw that I was only screaming becasue a frog was jumping around everywhere she laughed and some how was able to lead it to the window. Walking into the bathroom and seeing a frog just sitting on the bathroom counter can be scary for someone like me ...

... and set on my bed. The hospitality here in the Dominican Republic is awesome!
Having a host family that is really caring helps me from getting sad about missing my family because seeing them have Sunday dinner makes me wish I was back in the States having Sunday dinner at my grandma's house. This Sunday when the entire family comes over, I will be sure to take many pictures and upload them!
