The elderly couple managed to climb 533 steps to the top of Cologne Cathedral this morning so despite the adverse comments yesterday we are not quite dead yet. ... this area is the Spa race circuit; there were bikes using it when i went past. Its very dramatic, full of steep twisting curves and lots of trees.Actually crossing the border was slightly odd; the language changes before the actual border and the roads are particularly minor. Its quite high and on the German side is a large naturepark so it was a relief to drop down a bit for slightly warmer air. The wide plains approaching the Rhine were a noticable contrast.
