... came out quickly and we found a taxi to take us to our hotel. It was only a couple of miles away, the taxi driver stopped every couple of minutes to let us take pictures after the third stop we felt like we had enough pictures but he kept stopping so we felt obliged to take a couple more every time he stopped. It was a beautiful view, we were driving down the winding roads on one side of a mountain towards Laban Bajo harbour. The taxi stopped outside a rickety looking office ...

... legs and off we went. 30kms and £1.50 later , I was at the port ready to board the ferry to bali. Like a true traveller, I have no room booked for tonight and for the first time ever, and with some trepidation, I'm just going to see what bargain I can find when I get off the boat..... I walked back to my room in silence as everyone around me was so ...

... a great ride every time! The first day of surfing seemed easy, because my teacher pushed me into the waves, so I only had to stand up. Following days were harder, and peddled my arms numb. But I love it! I went surfing every day, being afraid that one day of rest would be enough to develop muscle ache. Only the last few days I surfed less as I got injured :( first the fin scratched my wrist, and then the board landed on my upper arm. Nothing really bad though. I'm alright! In ...

... who asked if we wanted to share a taxi and then managed to make a deal on a good price (of course she speaks Indonesian which makes it loads easier). Esta, who is in Lombok for two nights is a PR consultant from Jakarta, told us she's backpacked many times so know what it's all about. She offered for us to share her hotel room as it was already paid and has a double bed and a sofa bed, which she said is way too big for her. Because me and Anna really can't afford it ...
