To grandmother's house we go! A weekend in Burgos.

... want to take on the challenge of a 1.5 month walk from the South of France, through Logrono and Burgos, all the way to Santiago de Compostela. There are 27 stops along the way where people can stay for the night to rest, eat, etc. The distance between each stop ranges from 20-41km, on average you have to travel 23-27km/day for 30-35 days. Mario and Abuelo (Marta's dad) did the route about 15 years ago, on bike. It took them around 6 days.

And a good day was had by all!

Fingers crossed!!! Todays Inspirational piece comes from Ali. "All men ...

It was actually so good that the next day after going on a good long walk around the city ...

We heard of one gal who was going to rent a bike and ride her way through this stretch, something we never thought of. Perhaps next time :-) many more fields of sunflowers. Their huge heads follow the sun through the day. We see them mostly nodding to the east. No place to wash our clothes! Oh well, bathtub for the ...

The Road to Burgos

... Wellington's victories in the Peninsular War - one which effectively ended French control in Spain. Unfortunately, I haven't got time to stop for a look - you can't see everything along the way.

From Vitoria-Gasteiz to Burgos, there's a choice between the peaje and an older A-road. I go for the latter because it's more interesting and cheaper. It's rather like driving through Cumbria using the old A.6 instead of the M.6 - a few bends and a few towns and villages to negotiate, ...
