... GOD. I have seen a beautiful sky before, but this was no ordinary view. Imagine a scene from a Disney movie, where the moon is bigger then your face and the stars are perfectly place around it. A hazy cloud moves across the bright side of the moon...etc. It was incredible. Then came The Blackwater Trail.
All the potential of 9 miles of rail grade riding above the Blackwater River. We soon found the extent and reach of Superstorm Sandy. Trees and their attendant huge trunks covering the trail. A few volunteers were there with chainsaws and they warned us that the trail had not been cleared. Our egos would not allow us to turn back. How would we get around these mountains if we couldn't use the trail? We trudged on.
