... and an american guy...we saw 3 tarantulas, scorpion, millipede, lots of other spiders, glow worm, leaf bug, bats, and the giant blue butterflies... it was a lot of fun, and I would recommend that company to anyone... we even got free entrance into the park the following day, which we took up in the afternoon, and had a lovely time.... walking through a real forest, no big groups of tourists, and we saw a whole family of coati´s and monkeys... and loads of birds... we are ...
Monteverde, Province of Limon, Costa Rica nickiandal... him Grandma's secret to a long, happy life which was avoiding the 2 C's: complaining and criticizing. Since Doug is known to do both on a daily basis (not bad but just little comments here & there) we developed a nickname for him whenever he engages in such behavior "Dos C". Whenever he starts, we just yell out "Dos C" to bring it to his attention. I also shared with my cousin that I had already given Doug another nickname earlier in the ...
Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, Province of Limon, Costa Rica trockie... has been to a place, that seemed like the end of the world, but this place REALLY IS exactly like that :) A small village, only accessible by boat, with no streets and no cars, only some little houses spread all over and the most beautiful beach, right in front of it, that we have seen so far! We stayed in a cute cabina and from there took of the next morning in a small nutshell, with Bubba our oarsman, through the secrets of Tortuguero National park. Surrounded by green forest and ...
Tortuguero, Province of Limon, Costa Rica aileenchen... about it when we were kicking it in puerto viejo a couple months back. Another volunteer named Luz is there and she was wonderful and fixed up my dreads to make them look way way way better! I did a lot of hang out at the gardens play rock band and just talking with all my old mates. it was super good to see them all before i headed back to the states. Kat ended up hitching to nicaragua one ...
Monteverde, Province of Limon, Costa Rica crtravel... was definitely a thrill to be coasting high over the treetops, through clouds and mist at breakneck speed. Toward the beginning I got stuck on two of the zip lines, the first time I climbed backwards, arm over arm to the platform and the second, a guide came out and got me. After ten or so zip lines we arrived at the Tarzan swing, which is essentially a rope tied to a tree and a platform for you to jump off of. It looked THRILLING. I wasted no time hopping up on the ...
Monteverde, Province of Limon, Costa Rica karensweetland... and had seafood. The conversation was diverse, we discussed politics and health care. Its always interesting to hear the opinions of foreigners with regard to American politics. Hillary was a crowd favorite. I think Sean and I were quite embarrassed when after discussing U.S. politics for a solid half an hour, they asked if Debbie, Sean, or I could name the Canadian leadership. None of us could. Then it was back to the hotel where Sean, Debbie and I had ...

Alto Katsi, talamanca, Costa Rica tropicalcr... helped to make up for Nuvi's mistakes. Doka is an old, established C.R. estate/plantation. Their coffee is superb and 90% of it is exported to companies such as Starbucks, Caribou and Eight O'clock. Unfortunately that speaks to the fact that only 10% remains in C.R., however I was told Costa Ricans prefer an inferior bean because it is sweeter and less bold. Nevertheless, to my knowledge there are several other reputable coffee growers in C.R ...
Vara Blanca, Costa Rica ceejay2... would take me into custody if they noticed me snapping pictures. I figured these guys had never seen an Iphone before, and it didn't have a flash to give me away... so I kept it snug in my pocket for any opportunity I could get. Ironic how we pack certain things expecting to be prepared for the worst, and even lug them around for miles. A large weather system apparently had been brewing that day, and just happened to land ashore at 9:20 pm. Gawd it ...
Tortuguero, Province of Limon, Costa Rica neonguy... or turn around and jump backwards. I decided to go backwards thinking it might add to the thrill and it sure did! The ziplines were great too. Some were ridiuclously high, some were fast, and some were slower to give you more time to check out your surroundings as you go. After the rush of ziplining, we did a suspension bridge hike through the cloudforest. We ...
