We had a beautiful warm summer day to do a 50 mile cruise down a section of the Hudson River. The Catskill Mountains were in our western view most of the way. We took on about 120 gallons of Valvtech Diesel about halfway. While swimming in the refreshing pool we met a nice couple on the Rainbow Connection from Coxackie NY. They brought us fresh made brownies and pleasant conversation after dinner. ...

... You can easily spend the day. Saw huge Vanderbilt mansion driving on to Salem witch museum. Long 4 hour drive. Boston tomorrow! LJ

FDR's home and presidential library had numerous unique artifacts relating to the Roosevelt's life; that were well presented, and very extraordinary. I hope to return some day and see the rest of the interesting buildings on the Roosevelt estate. PJ

... two young sons. They were having a giod time - and despite their big packs, the kids were tired but smiling. Then we ran into a guy that offered to lend us his car, to drive to town and buy food. We said thank you for the offer, but did not feel right borrowing his car. He is out for the night also - looks like everyone we passed will be staying at the last shelter - 2 miles back. We started off by meeting at the gas station this morning between Concord and St Johnsbury, Vermont. I led the way onto I 93 South trying to make our way to I 91 South, but apparently you have to go North on I 93, so after 40 kms, we realized we were headed South East instead of the desired South Westerly direction of choice.
