... and there were lightning flashes every few minutes. Kinda scary, but we made it! We got to Medan on Sumatra around 3:30pm and were out of the airport in no more than 20 minutes. We had forgotten how much of a breeze it was to fly domestic... no immigration, no customs, just grab your bags and have a good day. Once out of the airport we took a cab to the hotel and took a chill night.

... t working and that's how I was going to pay for my visa. By card! This in combination with their prejudicial suspicions turned out to be a cocktail recipe for disaster. Anyway after lots of wrangling I was yet again free to go. Took the correct taxi I had researched to take off the internet - economically the best, then I was off, on a forty five minute journey to central Jakarta.
Got to my hotel, which was pretty luxury after the last few ekes ...
