After general introductions and niceties were out of the way, we all took the bus to a FABULOUS park. First of all, it is giant, with a lake, river, playing fields, multiple playgrounds, a hedge maze, swimming area, and more. ... let them know, and after talking to them over Facebook for the last month or so, we organized it, and I was very much looking forward to it. Anyone ever met someone from Belgium? They are incredibly friendly and welcoming people. So much that after a mere two days of hanging out, I’m spending a week with them, and staying at Joke’s mum’s apartment in my own room, and then Lynn’s mum by the sea in Belgium.
... For a town which is trying to sell its "charm" to the visitor, there won't be much left if they keep destroying the old houses.
The new Town Hall looked especially hideous and I'd seriously question the town planners vision for the future.
Anyway, I had another delightful afternoon wandering (slowly, very slowly) around the cobbled streets drinking in the atmosphere of an old culture.
... that the soup was warm because my fingers had turned a lovely shade of violet, which is always awesome :) I will never forget my gloves on a trip again. promise.
Because of the rain, we were ready to leave almost right after the castle. We stopped in this cute little pub for some beer, hot tea, and hot chocolate. Then we caught the train back to Liege and were in town by 6:00. ...
... movie about the band Joy Division. It was very well filmed. Today we had to say goodbye to them which was really sad. But we know they are here with us helping us along the way. Cheesy! But oh well.
I am hungry and tired, so we might go out again.
Earlier we found a great chinese restaurant called Chuoy Chong with a "plat du jour" for 5.50. Afterwards we wandered the streets trying to find an indie film theatre but it is closed until Thursday.
