... write up, namely visits to art galleries, the Hamburger Bahnhof, full of very contemporary art as well as the New National Art Gallery. We had hoped to go out to Potsdam but unfortunately it rained. We had such a full schedule in Berlin that the week there went so quickly. ... gothic Cathedral contains several art treasures including the baroque high alter, rococo pulpit, a Rubens and tombs of Ghent bishops. The most famous masterpiece is the Ghent Altarpiece (the medieval painting Adoration of the Mystic Lamb) commenced by Hubert van Eyck and completed by his brother Jan in 1432. Only the front panels were on display as the back are currently under restoration.

It's all just very picturesque. There's a castle, which we didn't venture into and just cute little ally ways everywhere.. they also have quite a lot of super old amazing architectural churches and cathedrals which are all really impressive when you can just see them all lined up against one another.
