I should have stayed in Oaxaca

... to the doctors. Turns out I had a sinus infection from breathing in all the dirt that was blowing around. It had been pretty windy the last week and I had a feeling I was going to get something.  The meds and doctor visit ended up costing me around $125. I didn't stop much for pictures, sorry, I felt like ****.

strange phenomina

... about 10 min we came across a nice private beach with a few shacks on it and the perfect camping spot all to ourselves. Was another good stop and sleep in the van, with a little surprise for us in the mourning. At about 6:30 we woke up and got to enjoy an ocean sunrise which was weird cause we just had watched the ocean sunset a couple nights which was in the same spot of the ocean. All in all another good stop for the books.

El Tajin

... to your own educated conclusion. We finally found the ruins. They were spectacular and explored them for several hours. The air was clean, no traffic and very few people. I stumbled across a huge patch of flowers and there were butterflies everywhere. The scents and sights were beautiful. In part of the ruins there is a place high above the rest of the grounds called El Tajin Chico. This is were the members ...

'Tehuantepec' in the narrowest part of Mexico!

... Domingo.' The church is considered to the best examples of baroque style in Mexico, opening in 1608 and its golf leaf inside has to be seen to be believed, I was literally gob smacked when I walked in, it was just incredible. The detail, design of the statues, ceilings and walls was stunningly beautiful, it even made me want to be abit more religious! Not sure it worked its charm to that degree on Adam though. Finally, laden with our many kilos we went ...

On the road again.....

... let beyond the confines of the roadblock when the protesters got the attention they wanted. Mexicans love to protest by screwing up traffic. They did it all the time when I was living in Oaxaca. I arrived in Tehuantepec, not really a metropolitan mecca, but the best place for me to stop en routeto San Cristobal. There were only buses that went straight through without stopping ...

A Different Experience

... on the road through lovely small villages and exceptional mountain vistas. We were headed for the Hotel Calli and, with a bit of help from the tourist bureau we found it. A beautiful hotel with lovely kept grounds but we were directed to a back parking lot where campers are allowed to park. Lots of low hanging branches made parking tough and there was no way to plug in to electricity. There was one water faucet with no flow. A nice young ...

Surfers Paradise

... However we weren´t entirely sure where we had to get off, so the last few hours weren´t very restful as we kept wondering if we were supposed to be getting off or staying put! After 9 odd hours on the bus we were met at Puerto Escondido by our very own taxi man who then drove us to Zipolite, a very small beach town. We had no reservation (no surprise there) so we took pot luck. After a bit of pigeon Spanish and plenty of hand ...
