After a short 4 hour drive from Dallas we made it to our campsite in Louisiana. We are pretty central in Louisiana staying in a national park right on a lake. Assuming there are no alligators it will be refreshing to swim in it because the humidity here is not very fun. After a light shower overnight (we stayed dry), today was absolutely perfect. We relaxed all day, doing our own little things. Sherry read her book on a float in the water, Debby laid on her lawn chair in the sun, and I went for a long walk exploring the campground. We had grilled pork chops (not squirrel) for dinner, with wild rice, and French cut green beans with sautéed onions and mushrooms. It was a lot more work than we had anticipated. With the temperature in the high sixties and the obvious humidity, it took it's toll, so to speak. We heard way more birds than we actually saw. They are extremely quick to disappear and must have learned their "dartiness" from the local drivers, or vise versa.
