Historical Traveler Reviews Grey's Hotel Brighton

    Great Stay

    from

My parents stayed at Grey's for 6 days and were totally happy with the accomodation. Terry was always very welcoming and served a very nice breakfast. Apparently the fresh cut fruit salad was the highlight of every breakfast.

On the last morning they had to leave very early in the morning, around six, and Terry got up and made them some coffee and again a delicious fruit salad.

The only little downside, the door of the room, king size room, was not sealed properly and so light was shining through all night.

Thank you very much for a pleasant stay.

    Fantastic Few Day's

    from

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at this lovely hotel for a few days. Terry, the owner, was very welcoming and friendly.

The hotel has been recently refurbished and extremely well designed, we stayed in room 7 which had a modern four poster, lovely bedding and inch thick carpets. The hotel itself has been put together with great attention to detail and is stylish without being too serious.

All of this and the wonderful breakfast (everything ranging from fresh fruit salad and pastries to the good old full English) meant that we had a great stay and would not hesitate to return or recommend the Grey's to others.

    Fantásticos días

    from

    Fab little hotel

    from

My boyfriend and I stayed at Greys in mid July for two nights.

The hotel is in a great location within easy reach of the town centre and near some great bars and restaurants in Kemp Town.

The owner Terry was lovely as were the guys from London who served us our breakfast. (The breakfasts are good too!)

We booked a standard double which was very well decorated and equipped and perfect for a weekend away.

The parking is a bit of a pain in Brighton but we plonked the car down at the marina as we werent going to use it all weekend and then got the little train back to the pier.

    Fantástico hotelito

    from

    Wonderful visit

    from

Grey's is a really marvellous find. It's beautifully furnished, and imparts a real sense of luxury and comfort from the moment you walk in the front door. My en-suite bedroom was stylishly appointed, and the bed itself one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The breakfast was excellent, served by the affable host, Terry Sessions, in a bright and most pleasant dining room. All in all, the whole visit was a delight. I shall certainly return.

    Maravillosa estancia

    from

    from

Great place to stay in Brighton

    from

I had a wonderful time staying at this Hotel. The room I stayed in had a real wow factor when I walked in with huge floor to ceiling windows and an amazing four poster bed. The decor was great , the atmosphere was great , the breakfast was the best Hotel breakfast I have had and Terry the owner couldn't have been more charming or helpful. I will definitely return to Brighton and Grey's Hotel as soon as possible.

    Great, stylish little hotel

    from

My fiance took me to Brighton for a romantic get away from London and he couldn't have found a better place. It's location is great, a minute from the sea and around 10 minutes walk to all the great restaurants and bars in central Brighton. The hotel had just been renovated (or just opened I think) so all fittings, furnishings, toiletries etc were of a very high standard and very stylish. Our room on the top floor had a gorgeous feature wall and lovely bay windows letting in lots of light and some sea views, a peek in a another room showed a beautiful four poster bed and a different style wall, so you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the finer details in this hotel. Finally, the host was very friendly and helpful; all in all, we were very impressed.

    ... boarders!

We then drove to Hastings which is located on the Coast and where William the Conqueror landed. However, we came to Hastings to visit St Clements Caves also known as Smugglers Cove. Smugglers Cove was used in the 1700s during a period of high taxes in England to smuggle in tea and other goods into England. It was also used in the 1940s as air-raid shelters during WWII. During excavations in the 1820s, numerous skeletal remains were located, so ...

... thought. AND SOOOO BEAUTIFUL. I'd probably never see it if it weren't for this concert. I fell in love with it the moment I got off the bus (or even before that). The sea and the Brighton pier.... beach.. everything. I added it to my imaginary list of places I could move to.
I got there around noon and found out that my hostel is only a street over from where the concert is- WIN! :D And there was only one girl waiting outside the door so I ...

... pictured what an English beach might look like! I decided to go up on the Brighton Wheel - my niece & her boyfriend went down to the beach to wait for me. It was great getting a different perspective of the place and with Steve Coogan commenting. I think it was meant to go around about 3 times but it seemed like it went around about 4 or 5.. got my monies worth of the views!

... I went towards the Pavilion which is a massive Turkish palace that was built in the center of town by Prince Regent at the turn of the last century (I believe) and walked into the gardens that are beautifully kept with multiple layers of color and texture and such depth to their diversity. The scene was magical and drew me in to wander with wonder while a busking guitar player strummed psychedelic harmonies into the already intoxicating ...

Why is it that stuff taken on holiday does not fit back into the space that it previously lived in. Why is it that clothes shrink in the wardrobe whilst on holiday. Why is it that when packed into a suitcase to return home the clothes take up a lot more space. Three questions with no answers.!!!!! David arrived home with four suitcases, three ...
