    ... mountain view to look
at. After we looked around Mycenae a bit we headed back to Nafplion where we
had the rest of the day free. I changed out of my bus/site visit clothes and
headed to the Mediterranean with friends. A large portion of our class was
there, jumping off of rocks and floating in the Mediterranean. We did have to
be careful of the sea urchins and jellyfish (one girl even got a ...

... Excepting the international flights on British Airways, I have booked every transport on this first sabbatical travel portion myself. Steve and I even managed to navigate the unforeseen circumstance of Greek island ferry closure to re-route ourselves to Athens in less than two hours, and it actually worked! I have gained so much confidence through this process, which was about to be tested by the Greek public transport system.

    Today, it's a taxi to the ...

... Epidavros for a short drive to the coast followed by a thirty minute boat ride to the island of Hydra. Dinner tonight was on the upstairs terrace at Christina Manolis' Taverna Gitoniko. We had appetizer plates of grilled squid, stuffed tomatoes, eggplant salad and grape leaf wraps. Quote of the day: "Travel teaches toleration." Benjamin ...
