... and more like the moors in Britain. Talking of Britain, we saw a signpost "Just like England, we pay in pounds" - and a picture of a cow! Poor thing. Also saw mini-tumble weeds today and a dust devil! McDonalds is becoming our favorite place to stop on the road: free wi-fi, bathrooms, cheap coffee. Our poor car is covered in bug splatter!!! In New Mexico now and have gained an hour. Can see Rabbit Ear mountain which we will pass to get to Clayton ...

We arrived at a reasonable hour via Walmart of course and bought sausages and a pasta sauce, so whilst Jonathan ...

Tomorrow we leave for Hugo ...

This morning we all had breakfast with Uncle Jerry and Aunt Katherine at Denny's. It was hard for me to say goodbye. We left Kilgore around 10:30 and began to make our way across Texas. The Dallas/Ft Worth area wasn't bad at all to drive thru on a Sunday. All I have to say about Texas is DANG is it hot!!! We pulled in to Vernon today ...

... through Ft. Worth. It was a good driving day being Sunday, not too much traffic.

Not much to see except oil rigs. It was surprising that we didn't see any windmills. Texas is a wealthy state. As of 2010 it shares the top of the list of the most Fortune 500 companies with California at 57. And like Florida, no state tax. But it's BIG. It's ...
