I wake up to day light and frantically grab my phone to check the time since Dave needed to be at breakfast before 8am and was afraid he overslept. Time...4:36am. Yup, day light already. We only slept 4 hours till dawn broke. Ack! Dave gets up and closes the curtains. We sleep a few more hours then get up to start our day at 7-ish. I do some work, check email, wash up and head to breakfast. Admire the interior as I walk the halls. Arrive at the dining areas to see ...

... minutes, saw one snake and a grand total of zero monkeys. Are you kidding me? Disappointed and with no other plans we pulled out the guidebook again to find something else nearby. It took Brittany about thirty seconds to see that I had taken us to "Aquaria", a super-boring museum about water, instead of the "Aquarium" which was further down the road. Oops! My first, "wow I feel like a moron" moment of the day. More would follow :) When we finally got to the right place ...

... train to the airport and Robert took the metro home. And now I'm in my hotel room at the airport. Really nice room on the eighth floor, with a big screen tv and they even have a loudspeaker for iPhone. Now I'm too tired, need some sleep before I have to get back up again in 4-5 hours to check my bag in and take off for a first stop in New York. 5 hours stop, do I have the time to take the train to Manhattan for a quick visit or not? Then question will be answered ...

... shop across from the railway station. Aunty Sue and I had to go into the Radisson Hotel for directions. Eventually we found it and the assistant who served us told us that our hotel was within 10 minutes walk. We gathered up Uncle Mick who we had left at the station minding our cases and set off over the cobblestones and rubble from the building site, towards our hotel. Over half an hour later we arrived at the hotel all looking very ...

Finland to Stockholm ferry

... on Wed, Fri and Sun nights. The day time Turku-Stockholm ferry came through a clear winner!

The Viking Buffet cost 22 Euro each - 90 minutes of food and drink from an incredible array of choices. The passage itself with our Eurail Pass (from 8.45 Finnish time to 18.55 Swedish time) cost 6,60 Euro for both of us. That's correct - only 6,60!! We'd paid in Oz before we left - 54 Euro but then got a credit of 3,40. After boarding, we were lucky enough to find a ...
