We left Chiang Mai & headed for Pai, a small town heading towards the Myanmar border. We didn't know much about the place but had seen it on quite a few of the tourist brochures. It was a roughly 3 hour trip in a mini-van, again because it's too hilly for normal buses. The first 3/4 hr was flat & then it was into the hills for the rest of the trip, up & down & around with hairpin bends. We didn't have the views like on the way to ...

Lovely spot to sit with great company - another great day even though all were very hot ...

We took a trip to the Chiang Mai Arts and Cultural Center (because we are so cultured) and it was frankly a little dull. Alice found it duller than I did... possibly? And I could tell this but the amount of interactive buttons she was pressing without want for information. They had a war with Burma a long time ago? ...

... with our guide Ike and another Japanese tourist for our 2 day trek. We walked all day in the heat and it was so much tougher than I had anticipated. We saw really untouched jungle and a waterfall and then stopped at the Laru tribes home for dinner and to sleep. The food was lovely although the over abilities were basic to say the least... Our guide told is all about the tribe, their history and about the Thai / Burmese war. After walking all day we were ...
