... century English paintings, and some amazing Wedgwood and Chinese ceramics, we had a look at the church and a walk through the gardens, the roses still blooming - and even scented! And then of course a sit down and drink at the pub. We still had time for a last walk along the cycle track, and a last delicious dinner with Omnia. And even caught a new New Tricks episode!! Now off to bed and ready for new adventure ...

Sunday morning and Liverpool turns on some beautiful weather. We're heading to Manchester….why some might ask……..but this is where we get to walk the famous cobbled streets of Coronation St!

But first we have to navigate our way out of Liverpool which would normally be easy, only it turned out that today they are starting the Tour of Britain (like the Tour de France) from Liverpool and all the roads around the waterfront ...

... has been renovated recently inside and is amazing. Planned in a spiral - a bit like the Guggenheim in NY, or the Seattle library, with an egg shaped dome in the ceiling. Really beautiful - and very modern. And the adjoining round building is still in classic form by contrast. By afternoon it was fine and even sunny. I had no concept of what to expect in Liverpool . Thought it would look industrial. However, I was pleasantly surprised . I found it a lovely vibrant city. Clean. Friendly. Great atmosphere. I was immediately caught up in the magic of "The Beatles"... All over again!! In fact, we all were & the smiles lever left our faces the whole time we were there.

They are free and the guide depends on tips from the punter. We have booked tickets for the Kremelin state Theatre.
