Enough resting, time to hurt ourselves a bit more. We caught a bus down to Samedan from where we caught a train laden with Japanese tourists to a small station called Spinas. From Spinas the line enters a tunnel which emerges at Preda, we decided that using the train is far too simple and so we set out to walk to Preda over the top of the mountain.

Waking up stiff, we decided that we should take the day off. So we spent the morning doing some office work before walking into town to do a bit of grocery shopping.

Our plan was to introduce the Swiss to some rugby and so we set off for Stef's house armed with my computer and mini projector.

No rest for the wicked apparently, so on with the hiking boots and hit the road.

We caught a bus down to La Punt before heading up and up and up some more into the mountains until we got to a mountain hut called Escha Hut. The weather was really hot and I think we were both on our limits of endurance.

We were invited over to Stef's house to braai with all her friends from the kite school, so armed with some Pork Neck and a salad we set off by bicycle to Chamfer. The braai was set up on Stef's huge veranda and soon we were surrounded by the youth of the Engadin. A nice bunch of kids, they hail from all parts of Europe ...

The air is clean and crisp In these parts yet everyone you see seems to have a smoke In their hands, I don't think lung cancer has caught on here yet or the health warnings.
Everyone looks fit in the mountains, as there are many steep walks to do, just in the day to day living stuff. We did see one lady on roller blades with poles, going up! the street and she would have been in here fifties or sixties. The road was very steep not just hilly. we guess about ...
