... petrol attendant directed us to the diesel pump. Once we had filled up, we got directions to our hotel, the Bulawayo Club, and off we went. Well ... if we thought the main street was bad, the rest of the 100km radius villagers were shopping in the next street! I immediately realised we were wrong, so we double backed, and after me running into a shop to get directions, we arrived at the hotel. By now the boys were VERY anxious! I ...

So I have many things to properly fill you in on but first and foremost I want to briefly describe the opening day and let the pictures do the rest of the talking!

Yesterday (Feb 16th) at 2.30pm (more like 3 if we're talking African timing!!) the opening ceremony began where Willard (my Zimbabwean father and local leader ...

He took delight in showing us his teeth-mark scars on his legs and back. He explained how he has helped to set up some of the local national parks and even danced for Queen Elizabeth (queen mother) when she visited. He was such a cheery, happy person, it was really refreshing.

... because they are holding up traffic… and I have fallen in love with this, I have fallen in love with what has become my normal, everyday life!

My favorite thing though about my new reality has to be my new family and friends. Each week I am coaching and working with over 100 different kids and youth, people whose names I can now pronounce and consider friends! Yet each week I feel like I am also meeting and making new friends, even in ...
