... like an apple turnover, it wasn't. The mystery meat inside was uneatable. A short taxi ride later we arrived at the "world famous" Kungor ice cave. We bought a $10USD ticket for the next tour (in Russian). The cave is not that interesting. It's a standard karst cave, where the entrance and exit are iced, probably from the extreme cold during the winters. There are some tacky ice sculptures with back lighting. Not the best cave I've seen. After a long cold tour which we couldn't ...

This is a top pick!

... Australian flag for a photo.

We did some grocery shopping for the train and then went back to our hotel to relax and watch more olympics. Mikhail agreed to pick us up at 8pm, but arrived around 8:30pm. The difference between the 2 hosts cannot be bigger but the hospitality in both families is so warm and welcoming. In both houses we get the bedrooms, the ladies sleep on the couch in the living room. As the apartments are downtown, it might be expensive to live here and we assume that both ...

The trans-siberian express?

A travel blog entry by oliehuntersmart

... it's in a reasonable state. Lunch has been a combination of things from home made sandwiches of salami and tomato with soup to noodles with salami and a pepper. Dinner has been more advanced, with the most basic being noodles, but progressing to couscous with salami, sweetcorn and kidney beans. There has been one mealtime disaster - Pasta with salami, though with no way of straining the slightly uncooked pasta, it turned into ...
