Gaige House, A Four Sisters Inn
Travel Blogs from Glen Ellen
It's a great pity that the two days we are here in wine country, it has poured with rain. Unusual, they say. However it hasn't stopped us touring round this lovely area and sampling delicious wines in some beautiful vineyards. We have been over in the Sonoma valley which we were told is a little more relaxed than the "snooty" Napa Valley. All very …

The rest of our time was spent gathered together either poolside at the lodge or at the park in the middle of Sonoma. They had a wonderful farmer's market, complete with food booths and live ...
... away. What a discovery! Most of Big Sur is viewed from above there are not a lot of beaches easily accessible. But this one after a brief wait was ideal. The water was ice cold but the beach was not. I could have stayed forever! San Francisco was calling and after a 4 hour beachfront view we needed to be moving along. Very nice Inn which gets away from that stereotyped American B&B with frills, patterned carpets and floral wallpaper. Gaige house is beautifully decorated in an Asian, minimalistic style. Beds super comfortable. Staff very helpful. And great breakfasts.
