My last two days in Tenerife

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 21, 2014

... perfect way for me to end my trip here on the island. Yesterday actually started out somewhat more complicated than I would have liked, since my phone charger has been broken for about a week and my phone died the night before. I ended up not being able to set an alarm and wake up on time, so I was unfortunately unable to shadow in Gynecology that day. The reason I'm not completely disappointed about this is because I realized that all I was going to see was more Cesarian Sections ...

Gynecology

... the entire conversation was in English, and she asked Laura for permission to leave that day. It was her birthday, and her husband had been sleeping in the hospital since the day she arrived (about two weeks--talk about a devoted husband), so she wanted to be able to experience the island and celebrate her day with him. For once I did not feel like a tourist but as a visitor or traveller passing the time of day in another country where sights, sounds and taste are enjoyably different. Everything ...

Week3---WEEKEND---week4

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 11, 2014

... fourth weekend! I got burned pretty badly on every part of my body, and I'm just now beginning to peel all that skin away, but it was so worth it. We only have one more weekend here before we all go our separate ways, so I'm really thankful that I got to have a great one with my friends. It's so crazy to think that two weeks from now, I won't even be here anymore! I'm dreading leaving the island, but I also can't wait to see my girlfriend and family again. Here's to an awesome weekend!
