We decided to have our engine parts shipped and we got a 10 day pass for the lock system: a whopping $37.50!! We moved down to Fort Edward at Lock #7 for a few nights. There is free power and water, as well as bathroom and showers. No internet though- we walked over a half hour to McDonald's in the new section of town to get internet. The town has some ...

... high cement wall- Marty put our little bench out so I can get on and off the boat. I am amazed by the architecture here.... so many wonderful old buildings with elaborate wood carvings. Some are in great shape and have beautiful paint jobs, some out of the main district stand waiting for someone to care and restore them back to their former magnificence. I don't think I have seen so many buildings that I felt I really needed to take pictures of in so ...

Apparently this is not normal even for hot humid days- the fogginess is being blamed on the smoke in the air from the fires in Washington. Not long into our journey we passed the deepest part of the lake- we saw over 400 feet. A big difference from Mako's usual sailing area!! We wound down past the ...

... I had the right directions and met him at a Stewart's where we got more directions. When we got there, it turned out it was the wrong boat launch so, after looking at my map, Otto found the right direction and we were off in our kayak/canoe convoy. By then Milo was very anxious to get on the water.

It seemed like a long ride before we found the boat launch area. There was another farther down the ...

... swear, dove at me with a determination in his eyes that I have never seen. He went all or nothing, sacrificing himself in order to knock me swiftly over the side of the raft into the water. Next thing I know, we are bobbing down the Hudson. And guess what? I no longer have my sunglasses on my face!! As much as I wanted to blame Alex, I had struck first. Ugh, I will not return to that hardware store a 3rd time. The rest of the trip was great, lunch was provided, and they even threw in ...
